Stanley Palace Formerly called Derby House, stands on, or near, the site previously occupied by the Dominican Friars (The 'Black Friars') in medieval times. The building is reputed to be the most haunted building in Chester and over the years has become well known for its haunted phenomena. Stanley Palace which was built in 1597 is a Grade II listed Tudor building in the city of Chester. The house was built for Sir Peter Warburton who was a local lawyer and also Member of Parliament When Sir Peter Warburton died in 1621 the house was then past onto his daughter Elizabeth. Sir Peter Warburton’s daughter then married Sir Thomas Stanley who then gave his name to the house. During the 1870s Stanley Palace housed a boys' school but in 1889 the building was then sold to the 15th Earl of Derby and in 1928 the house was given to Chester Corporation. Stanley Palace has had a variety of paranormal activity reported over the years such as footsteps, low murmurings and unexplained noises coming from the Gallery area along with the sound of children’s laughter along with the ghostly apparition of an old man who visiting Mediums to this location say is a resident thought to be from a neighboring cottage. The Apparition of a lady dressed in a style from the 17th century has also been witnessed at this location, it is said that as quickly as she appeared she then disappeared through an interior paneled wall. Visiting Mediums here have picked that this Ghost is Sir Peter Warburton’s daughter Elizabeth. This eerie place is not one for the faint hearted and Dusk Till Dawn Events have this Unique Building all Night. Dusk Till Dawn Events have this unique building for an entire Nights Investigation and you have the chance to join in your very own Ghost Hunt at one of the UK'S Most Haunted Locations. There will be a mini Psychic development workshop and a demonstration of all Ghost Hunting equipment used on Paranormal Investigations and you will be shown how to use many divination tools such as the pendulum, dowsing rods and the old ancient art of Scrying which you can all experience and experiment with. You will have full use of Ghost Hunting Equipment and the night will be hosted by experienced Paranormal Investigator(s) and Psychic Medium(s). You will take part in various experiments such as Table Tipping and Glass Divination and watch and wait Vigils throughout the Night in the most active parts of the location. This really is Ghost hunting at its best in such a fantastic haunted location but remember there is no heating at this Location. It will be very cold also very dark so wrap up warm and bring Torches. Tea and Coffee and Biscuits are provided by Dusk Till Dawn Events Don’t forget to bring along your Camera’s, Camcorders and any other recording equipment you never know you may catch something on film!
