Charlton House London Ghost Hunts

Charlton House London

History

This Jacobean house was originally built as a home for the Stuart Royal Family between 1607 and 1612. The house has been added too, and new wings attached to the building in 1877.

During the first World War, the house became the head quarters of the Red Cross and around the end of the War it was used as an auxiliary hospital with around 70 beds.
The Chapel wing was bombed in the Blitz and subsequently rebuilt, but not in the original matching brick, as this material was hard to come by after the War.

Paranormal Activity
Charlton House has many reports and first-hand accounts from people who have visited the house.
Many of the reports state poltergeist activity, from items moving to people being touched. Sounds are heard on all levels of the house as you walk around. Some have heard foot-steps following them, or disembodied voices have been heard calling from the dark.
