The Original Hangmans Hill Ghost Walk Essex

The Official Original Hangmans Hill Ghost Walk Epping Forest Essex - Established since 2006

History

Epping Forest has a rich and vibrant history, with records dating back to 700BC.

During the medieval period the rights of the commoners to access the forest was protected. Commoners could still access the forest for wood collection, grazing cattle and allow pigs to forage. Epping forest is all that remains from the once extensive forest that encompassed Waltham Forest and Hainault Forest.

With the arrival of the new train line, Londoners would visit Epping forest during the Victorian period and holiday in the area. Many events were held in the forest including markets, beer tents and fortune telling.

During both World Wars the first was changed irreversibly and many of the pond and pools to be found within the forest are from the bombs that landed in the area.

Paranormal Activity

Spirits have been seen walking from the pool known as the suicide pond.

There are many spirit manifestations within the forest and many people have been followed by spirits when walking through the forest.

There have been many reported murders inside the forest, with so many deaths, murders, and suicides, it is not surprising that a walk through this forest is not for the faint hearted.

Cars left in neutral at the bottom on Hangman’s Hill are said to roll up the hill unaided.

Take part in the official Original Hangman's Hill Epping Forest ghost walk, as seen on TV's Most Haunted and the Only Way is Essex!
