Mill Street Barracks St Helens

Mill Street Barracks Ghost Hunt Events Liverpool

History

Dating back to 1861, this beautiful building has long been connected to the Lancashire Rifle Volunteer Corps. This was a training centre and housed many of the volunteers connected to the Rifle Battalions.

The battalion mobilised here in August 1914 before being deployed to the front lines.

In more recent history the centre has been used to train sea cadets, following the Royal Artillery being moved to other, more modern facilities.

Paranormal Activity

The most famous spirit connected to the barracks, is that of a soldier known as James. He makes his presence known to those who call upon him. He makes sounds and interacts with many of the pieces of equipment taken on events.

Along the cellars, dark shadows have been seen following those who venture down there.

Cold spots have been felt in many areas, with the cold seeming to engulf a room.

A lady has been seen walking through the hallways, wheeling a trolley. When using audio equipment, you can often hear the trolley wheels squeaking as they go past.
