The Niddry Street Vaults Ghost Hunts - Edinburgh

Edinburgh The Niddry Street Vaults

The Niddry Street Vaults in Edinburgh, have a reputation for being extremely haunted, as seen on many paranormal tv shows, the Niddry Street Vaults are hidden beneath Edinburghs South Bridge, this atmospheric place is a firm favourite on many of a ghost hunters bucket list to visit and investigate, due to its ghostly reports and history.

With deep underground chambers, the Vaults are an historical icon situated in the heart of Edinburgh city, with links to the body snatchers Burke and Hare who preyed upon their dying and dead victims here, selling corpses for dissection lectures.

The Vaults date right back to the 1700's and were home to various trades people from that period. The Vaults had many flooding issues, so once the traders moved out, this made way for the poor, sick, destitute and vunerable to move in. The Vaults were not fit for habitation and conditions were poor, hence why many people died as a result from disease that arose from living here.

This location is said to be haunted by many different ghost energies, some visitors have even reported receiving, strange, scratches to their bodies after stepping into the stone circle that can be found inside the Vaults, this is one place that may make you feel very uneasy, you have been warned!
